Janet Scarborough Civitelli, Ph.D.
Janet Scarborough Civitelli is the Founder and President of Bridgeway
Career Development. For 18 years, Dr. Civitelli has
successfully assisted individual and organizational clients seeking career development, executive or personal coaching, and
consulting. Her current focus is the development of products providing effective and affordable career development solutions to clients seeking to choose, change, or advance their careers.
Dr. Civitelli attained a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of
Texas at Austin. Her dissertation study found that changeable
aspects of personality are associated with life satisfaction. She
also completed a bachelors degree in Economics from the University
of California at Los Angeles. Prior to attending graduate
school, Dr. Scarborough held increasingly responsible positions
in high tech sales, marketing, project management, and recruiting.
Former employers include IBM, MCI WorldCom, Andersen Consulting
(now Accenture), and Novell.
Dr. Civitelli is a Master Career Counselor as certified by the National Career Development Association.
She has also completed advanced postgraduate certification as a Master Personal and Executive Coach at the
College of Executive Coaching,
the leader in coach training for professionals with advanced degrees.
Dr. Civitelli is a licensed Psychologist (Washington State #3293) and
Mental Health Counselor (Washington State #5846). Her
teaching experience includes an instructorship at the University
of Washington in the Certificate Program in Career Development.
Dr. Civitelli is a member of and follows the ethical guidelines of the
American Psychological Association, the
American Counseling Association, the
National Career Development Association, and the
National Employment Counseling Association.
When she is not working, Dr. Civitelli enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter.

Eric Jacobsen, Ph.D.
Eric Jacobsen has provided career counseling, job search consulting,
and executive coaching to over 350 executives, managers and professionals.
His clients are from organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies
to entrepreneurial ventures. Industries that he serves include
high tech, biotech, health care, financial services, insurance,
telecommunications, retail, food service, aerospace, energy, manufacturing
and construction. He provides a full range of career consulting
services from personal and career assessment, identification of
career options, resume coaching, job search skills and strategies,
interview training, evaluation and negotiation of job offers, small
business development, and leadership coaching for advancement and/or
work-life decision-making and prioritization.
Dr. Jacobsen offers clients the option of using assessment instruments
and exercises to examine career and personal interests, personal
traits and styles, and career values. Once clients have identified
their targeted goals and are ready for focused coaching, Dr. Jacobsen
assists them to build skills and to become more interpersonally
effective in leveraging relationships for career and personal success.
For job search clients, he teaches clients how to research targeted
industries and organizations and then to implement a personal marketing
campaign to land their desired career position. For employed clients,
he uses his knowledge of human behavior and organizational dynamics
to design and implement strategies for increased success and satisfaction
in the workplace and in their personal lives. In his work at Bridgeway Career Development, Dr. Jacobsen provides face-to-face services in Seattle or Bellevue and also provides telephone-based services.
Dr. Jacobsen has his Ph.D. in Psychology and is a licensed
Psychologist (Washington State #1430). He is a member of the
Society for Industrial and Organizational
Psychology
and the
American Psychological Association
.
In his non-working hours, Dr. Jacobsen enjoys spending time
with his wife (an elementary school teacher), his daughter (a commercial
banker), and his son (a computer game animator). He says he does
his best to nurture his wonderful family while trying to perfect
his skills in a humbling game called "golf."

Carolyn Kessler, M.S.
Carolyn Kessler has 20 years experience in coaching, training and consulting roles. Ms. Kessler specializes in supporting individual and corporate clients to achieve both professional and personal goals. With her broad-based experience, she has extensive knowledge of all facets of career decision-making and advancement including self-assessment, job search, career research, career change, networking and marketing, resume development, time management, interviewing, negotiation, leadership and management development, spousal relocation, and work/life balance.
In addition to providing services for Bridgeway Career Development, Ms. Kessler has a successful 17-year track record in career consulting and executive coaching for one of the world's largest international career management firms. She has worked with companies ranging in size from single office local firms to major regional, national, and international organizations. Ms. Kessler is a generalist who also has in-depth experience in many industries including high tech, biotech, health care, aerospace, manufacturing, hospitality, financial services, telecommunications, nonprofits, and academia. In her work at Bridgeway Career Development, Carolyn provides face-to-face services in Mercer Island and also provides telephone-based services.
Ms. Kessler completed her B.A. in Spanish at the University of Washington and her M.S. in Organization Development from Central Washington University. She has completed advanced training with the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and is a member of the Puget Sound Coaches Association and the International Coach Federation (ICF). She is certified by CEO (Center for Executive Options) and is a member of their National Executive Coaching Team. Prior to the Boeing Company’s relocation of its corporate offices from Seattle to Chicago, Carolyn worked with their Executive Development Program (EDP) serving as a coach to high performance, high potential managers in an intensive two-year professional development program.
Ms. Kessler represents the 4th generation in her family to live in the Seattle area and loves the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. In her free time, she is involved in family, recreational and community activities as well as the local music and theater scene. She enjoys international travel and has journeyed to 45 countries on 6 continents.

Tassie Medlin, CMA
Tassie
Medlin is Bridgeway Career Development's Business Manager. As owner
of her company, Solvari LLC,
Ms. Medlin provides financial and technical business management expertise
to her clients. Ms. Medlin is a Certified Management Accountant and
a Certified Financial Manager. She is an experienced accountant,
project manager, and technical trainer. In addition to her work with
Bridgeway Career Development, Ms. Medlin has previously worked for
Sierra Online, the University of Oregon, and Hewlett-Packard. Ms.
Medlin holds an MBA from the University of Oregon and bachelors degrees
in Business Management and Computer Science.
